Worrisome Numbers
Last month, it became obvious (again) why many people are choosing something other than the traditional MLM pay plan to reach their financial goals.
In this case, one particular MLM company released its 2008 distributor earnings report recently and the results were not pretty.
Out of 18,000 ACTIVE distributors in the company, fewer than SIX people are earning more than $2,800 per month.
Read that again.
Specifically, it was stated in the report that — of the twelve people who had achieved the Senior Executive position — the “average” income of those people was $225,000. Sounds okay.
But then over to the side we see that the MEDIAN income was only $33,000. For those of you who might not remember the difference in “median” and “average”….the median figure is when you line up all the numbers from smallest to largest and find the middle point.
So, in this case, it means that — of the 12 people who achieved the top level — the #6 person is earning $33,000 per year ($2,800 per month). From there, it’s a very simple deduction to say that the lower FIVE of the top earners in the company are earning less than $2,800 per month.
As for the upper six people in the top level, the average income figure shows that at least three of them are making some decent money. But it’s also easy to speculate that 3 or 4 of them have still not reached $100,000 per year.

And only 4 of them are earning at least $8,000 per month.
Is it any wonder that people are looking for other ways to earn an income from home? While these numbers are certainly the lowest I’ve ever seen in the MLM industry….there are still some MLMs out there that are doing a much better job.
But it all still begs the question: if you want to achieve a large income from home……why not work in a business model that has demonstrated a far greater likelihood of achieving that goal?
